Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (also known as Yulong Snow Mountain) is a magnificent mountain range located near the ancient city of Lijiang in Yunnan Province.
It is the southernmost snow-capped mountain in the Northern Hemisphere.
The mountain's 13 peaks, which stretch for about 35 kilometers, resemble a giant jade dragon lying against the clouds, hence its name.
The highest peak, Shanzidou, soars to an altitude of 5,596 meters.
For centuries, it has been considered a sacred mountain by the local Naxi people, who worship it as the embodiment of their guardian god, "Sanduo." The mountain is celebrated for its dramatic landscapes, encompassing glaciers, alpine meadows, forests, and rivers.
